What is the process for a private event? 

First, complete the form with dates. Within 5 business days, a representative from the Cinema will get in touch to confirm the availability of the space. If available, the time will be confirmed and a rental agreement and invoice will be sent. 

 

When can I rent the Cinema?

The primary function of the Cinema is to operate as a single-screen theater. Peak times are Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. These timeframes are rarely available to rent. 

 

Can I get popcorn or other concessions during a private event?

Most certainly! The box office employee working your event will be happy to sell concessions. We do offer unlimited popcorn for a flat $35 fee for up to 50 people. If you would like to set up a tab, please alert the box office employee and your card will be kept on file and run at the end of the evening.

 

What is the capacity of the Cinema?

We can comfortably seat 49 total with the theater seating. Additional benches and tables bring this total to 60.

 

What does the Cinema have that I can use for an event? 

We have seven 6-foot folding tables and 20 chairs that are available for use. 

 

What films are available to watch in the Cinema?

The Cinema is available to stream anything that is distributed now by any of the major streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, HBO Max, Hulu. If you have a film in mind, we are happy to check the availability of the film. We also have the capability to stream from Youtube/Vimeo, USB Drives, and via a computer with an HDMI cable.

 

My event requires setup, how does that work? 

Setup times will need to be included in the hourly charge. Setup that takes place on a day prior to the event would be billed dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to: duration of setup & duration of time between setup and event. Chairs may be rearranged within the premises of the theater, however are not permitted to leave the theater area.

 

How much does it cost to rent the Cinema? 

Private events for all private individuals and organizations are charged at an hourly rate of $50. We require a minimum of 2 hours. In addition, a $12 per hour fee will be assessed in most cases an employee is present and a one-time mandatory fee of $25 will be assessed for cleaning. 

 

Can I bring in food and alcohol?

Capitol City Cinema has a great relationship with our neighbors, Cork and Board. We ask that you please review their food menus before making food arrangements to see if they can accommodate your needs. Otherwise, you are most welcome to bring in your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the Cinema unless purchased from Cork and Board.
